ABOUT US
The via ferrata of the cala del molí was inaugurated to the public in June 2002 and was built by Albert Girones Domenech.
Refurbished and reopened in 2013 by Albert Girones Domenech and Albert Girones Stierle.
It is the only via ferrata (known so far) built next to the sea.
The road consists of a circular route equipped with cables and stainless steel anchors (due to the corrosion caused by the sea) that leads us to skirt the cliffs of the Costa Brava during a route of just over 480 meters in length and with a maximum height of 28 meters above sea level.
During the route we will have to cross up to 7 bridges (3 Tibetans, 3 Nepalese and 1 wooden).
The difficulty of this via of this via ferrata is K2-K-3 (according to EscalaHüsler), finding its most technical point in the second part.
Formed by two well differentiated parts, with two escape options in between.
The first of an easier and more affordable nature (K-2)
The second part of a more aerial character and with a higher level of difficulty (k-3)
In this second section we find an option for the most daring that is none other than the sports variant called "Escalfer".
Identical access and return that take us up the stairs of the coastal path to Sicilia street.

GETTING HERE
La via ferrata de la Cala del Molí se encuentra situada en la localidad de Sant Feliu de Guíxols. A poco mas de 30 minutos de GIrona, 1 hora de Barcelona y poco mas de 1 hora de la frontera con Francia.
Para llegar a Sant Feliu de Guíxols des de barcelona tomaremos la salida 9 de la autopista AP-7 y continuaremos por la autovia C-65 durante 30km.
Una vez Sant Feliu de Guixols tomaremos dirección hacia el club marítimo, pero antes de llegar se tiene que coger una calle que sube por la izquierda hacia el hotel Hipócrates. Delante del hotel encontramos una calle con una fuerte subida que sale a la derecha.
Una vez arriba ya podemos buscar sitio para aparcar.(Antiguamente se podia aparcar en la misma calle, però actualmente encontramos un cartel de prohibido aparcar en toda la calle Sicilia)
Una vez aparcados seguiremos andando por la calle Sicilia y veremos un mirador con unas escaleras que bajan ( Mirador de las triadores). Allí están las indicaciones de la ferrata.
Bajaremos unas escaleras por el camino de ronda y en menos de 2 minutos veremos el cartel principal de la Via ferrata de la Cala del Molí con toda la información necesaria de la actividad.
